There are many fun and engaging ways to get involved with Moraine’s PTA.
Please see below for descriptions of some the committees.
Some of our PTA Committees
Back to School Committee:
Help hand-out packets to students and parents in late August/early September. Stuff 1st Monday envelope packets. Make copies of needed papers. Staff volunteers for needed shifts.
Support schools efforts to maintain Green School certification through recycling programs, flower gardens, and education.
Breakfast with a Buddy:
Annual spring breakfast with students and parents/special guests. Hand out breakfast items to guests. Set up/take down of Multi-Purpose Room for breakfast event.
After school chess club. Volunteers help coordinate chess instructors, student participants, games, etc.
Family Night Activities:
Support and volunteer at family night activities such as family movie nights, game nights, spring daughter dance, special son event, etc.
Volunteers will support Spring Fun Fair through running games and activities, sell tickets, set-up and take-down, and organize and distribute prizes.
Volunteer at annual race held in May. Encourage runners throughout race, hand out water, popsicles, monitor course and safety of students throughout a neighborhood race.
Junior Enrichment Series:
The Junior Enrichment Series or JES is a PTA funded program that is designed to bring activities into the school through workshops and other medium that enrich and supplement our current curriculum. Serve as parent volunteer at events.
March is Reading Month:
Annual national celebration of March as Reading Month. Create materials to help celebrate theme. Participate in school wide activities in March that encourage reading.
Parents Night Out:
Organize and host Parents Night Out to encourage a fun and collaborative partnership with parents, PTA, and school staff.
PTA Grant Committee:
Review teacher grant requests once per year in partnership with Dr. Bryan. Select and notify successful teacher grant applicants. Educate teachers and PTA membership on teacher grants selected.
The PTA believes all children deserve a quality arts education and encourages students to pursue artistic expression through participation in its annual Reflections Program. The program offers students the opportunity to create works of art for fun.
Coach/Asst Coach a team to build children’s skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Make science fun and compete in district competitions.
Scrips turns everyday shopping into cash for Moraine when families use retail gift cards to pay for everyday purchases (like gas and groceries) instead of the usual credit/debit card/cash. Volunteers will advertise program & distribute gift cards.
Support events throughout the year. Provide breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner items for teachers and staff during conference times, special events, etc. Set up and Take down of appreciation events.
Willing to take pictures for your student’s classroom and activities. Send photos to Committee Chair by set deadlines. Help deliver yearbooks in spring.
