Reflections Chair/Co-Chairs Needed

Give students confidence in their abilities to explore ideas and learn through the arts!

Each year hundreds of thousands of students in preschool through grade 12 create and submit original works in the areas of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts. Students may participate in the national awards program through their school’s PTA.

The 2018-2019 theme “Heroes Around Me” will spark imagination and creativity in school and at home. Encourage your school to imagine, create and celebrate with Reflections during National Arts & Humanities Month this October.

Deirdre has done an amazing job chairing this event for our school for the past few years and this will be her last year, she would love to work with someone this year so you are ready to chair this event starting next year.

If you are interested in providing this wonderful opportunity to our students please contact Deirdre for more information,

1000 markers were recycled at the end of the last year!  Truly amazing how our community pulled together to collect all the used up and dried up markers and saved them from going into the landfill.

Thank you to all the students, parents, teachers and staff and of course Crayola for providing such a great educational and environmentally friendly way to recycle what would normally  be trash into fuel.

Be sure to save those markers when you are through and look for the boxes to return to the hallway and centrums this year!

Crayola Color Cycle

Crayola ColorCycle will accept all brands of plastic markers, not just Crayola markers.  That includes dry erase markers and highlighters!  ColorCycle will eliminate placing hundreds of tons of markers into landfills.

Don’t throw out those dried out and used up markers….

…ColorCycle them!

We’re so excited to tell you about a very special program we’re coordinating at our school in conjunction with Crayola. It’s called Crayola ColorCycle – an amazing new program devised to turn used markers into energy!

All around Moraine Elementary students and teachers will be collecting used markers that are ready to be discarded. The markers will be sent to a facility where they will be converted into clean fuel. This fuel can be used to power vehicles, heat homes, cook meals and more!

Please help support our efforts by sending your kids in with any used markers you may have around the house – even non-Crayola brands. A marked drop-off box will be located at the front entrance for your child to deposit the markers.

Thank you in advance for participating! With the help of parents like you across the country, the Crayola ColorCycle program can keep tons of plastic out of landfills each year.

Remember, don’t throw out that used marker—ColorCycle it!

Moraine Green Team

*Markers will be accepted while the school office is open, even after the last day of school.
